The Patissier Summer Camp is a camp for young budding pastry chefs to become familiar with the pastry arts...and love it! The Summer Pastry Chef Program is for kids ages 13-15 years old. Classes will be held in the professional kitchens at Tastemakers DC in the Brookland neighborhood of Washington, DC.
This is a 2-day camp.
Day one is Thursday, August 15th 10:30am-2:30pm.
Day two is Saturday, August 17th 11:00am-3:00pm.
Ticket price includes both days and a $50 registration fee.
Students will focus on the basic of working with yeast to make a French bread. Techniques such as dough development, proofing, kneading and shaping dough will be covered. Students will learn how to make baguettes and pain d'epi.
