Plant-based foods can help you improve your health, manage your weight and avoid chronic diseases like high cholesterol and diabetes. But, many people struggle with how to get more plants into their diets. The “KICKSTART YOUR HEALTH – Plant-based Cooking & Nutrition Series” will teach you the health-promoting benefits of plants, and a practical and easy approach to eating more plants.
During this 4-class series, each class will include a demonstration of three tasty recipes that were created by culinary experts and use commonly available ingredients, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans. Participants will get to sample all of the recipes, which are simple to make, nutritious, and easy to incorporate into your routine.
Each week a different topic will be discussed, such as the nutrients in plants, how to meal plan, plant-based eating out, breaking food addictions, and natural appetite control. This series follows the science-based Food for Life program developed by the Physicians Committee For Responsible Medicine, and is taught by Granetta Coleman, a certified Food for Life Instructor with Rooted Dish.
Classes are 12pm-2pm on 5/20, 5/27, 6/3 and 6/10.
Ticket price: $140 for the 4-class series.
